James Johnson was the land agent for Major Eustace Robb who had inherited the Great Tew estate in 1962. These photographs were taken for the Sunday Times Magazine, about the decay of a village estate. I have recently been back, Great Tew has gone from strength to strength. The Johnson's did a great job of preserving a beautiful part of the English countryside, rebuilding and investing in a community.
