Mr Rogers was a wealthy businessman, who owned a messuage, shop and premises in Kensington High Street, London. In his Will dated 1806 amongst other bequests he left £800.00 of Stock, at 3 percentage interest.The dividend was to provide good quality Beef and Barley for parishioners of Nevern. There was no stipulation as to the qualification of the beneficiaries. <br />

The Rector Neil Llwelyn, butcher Ken Davies and Vivian Owen. The brisket of beef that is distributed to those now eligible in the village.
