Beating the Bounds. Tower Liberty, London 1975. The Liberty of the 	Tower of London is an independent area of the City, once defined by 	the distance of an arrow’s flight from the outer walls of the Tower. 	Every three years on Ascension Day after a special service at the 	Chapel Royal of St Peter and Vincula a procession sets off to visit 	each of the thirty-one boundary stones and mark them.
