Air pollution from Monkton Coke Works, Hebburn, South Tyneside, Tyne and Wear, England 9th March 1990. <br />
The coking plant was closed down in 1990 and demolished in 1992. The coking plant is used to produce coke (coking coal) from metallurgical coal. Brian Moon aged 2 needs nebuliser he suffers from asthma. He is a local child who’s breathing has been affected by toxic fumes from the Coking Plant.
