APPLEBY GYPSY HORSE FAIR CUMBRIA

Appleby in Westmorland traditional annual gypsy Horse Fair Cumbria. 1981. Mother and baby daughter all dressed up. The mother is using a traditional method of carrying a toddler. Her left arm/ hand is folded under her and 'hooked' into her dress, so as to create a sort of arm platform for the child. Mother does have a right hand it just tucked out of slight.
