BIDDY BOYS 1970S IRELAND

Biddy Boys in Killorglin celebrating the Celtic Saint Brigit or Brig, who was a goddess of pre-Christian Ireland. February 2nd is her Saints Day. Biddy Boys wear disguise going from house to house, playing music, dancing, singing and collecting alms. The celebration last for several days. At the end of the festival their is a competition for the best dressed Biddy Boy team. Killorglin, County Kerry, Eire, Southern Ireland circa 2nd February 1972.
