BREAKDANCING STOCKPORT LANCASHIRE 1980S

Stockport, Lancashire, circa June 1985. Crowds gather at shopping centre to watch two young men display their skills. Note the music comes from a so called Ghetto Blaster, a radio tape recorder player on floor half hidden. The shopping centre was in Mersey Square and the area was known as the Bear Pit. The Ghetto Blaster, large radio the term comes from hung radios carried around with music playing very loudly originated in the USA . The exact opposite to ipods etc portable radio.
