BRIXTON RIOTS LONDON 1980S
Brixton, London, 1981.
The Brixton Riots in April 1981 were the result of long running simmering tension between the police and local black community. As well as inaction by the Met over the New Cross Fire, and social and economic problems as a result of the recession. Time magazine called the riots “Bloody Saturday.”
