CHINA 1990s ONE CHILD POLICY CHINA ALL BOYS LIUFU VILLAGE

China Beijing 1990s. Chinese government One Child Policy was introduced to controle the size of the population. As a result many more boys were born. Girls were aborted before birth or died shortly after. 97.5% of all abortions were on a female foetus. Girls were considered to be a much greater expense on the family, especially in rural communities. Boys were spoilt and known as Little Emperors.
