The Connaught Square Squirrel Hunt. London UK. The club was formed on April Fools Day 2005 after Ed Seyfried was warned by a policeman that he could be arrested and his dog Dillion a Jack Russell terrier put down for chasing a squirrel. Ed phoned his friend and lawyer Duncan Macpherson who confirmed that this was true. Allowing your dog to chase a squirrel is against the law, the penalty as much as £5,000 for the owner, and the death penalty for the dog! The hunt now takes Dillion to nearby Hyde Park and they get him to chase a 'drag squirrel' in fact an old pair of socks tied to a piece of string. A few friends were asked to joint them on their first 'drag hunt' which was such fun that they decided to form the Hunt Club, named after the square where the prime Minister Tony Blair has bought a new house. « less
