FREE FESTIVAL STONEHENGE 1970S

Stonehenge Free Festival Summer Solstice 1979.
Crowds of hippies gather within the inner circle of Stonehenge during the 1979 summer solstice free festival to listen to John Pendragon poet and ‘tribal messenger.’ With his Rosettiesque flaming red hair and bushy beard, he was the epitome of otherness. In a hippy style Indian long linen decorated white smock, he calls out in the name of the ancient pagan gods, and recites extracts from his poetry to an attentive audience. He died in 1998.
