FREE FESTIVAL STONEHENGE 1970S

Stonehenge Free Festival at the summer solstice, Wiltshire, England June 21st 1979. Crowds of hippies gather within the inner circle of Stonehenge during the festival to listen to John Pendragon poet and ‘tribal messenger.’ With his Rosettiesque flaming red hair and bushy beard, he was the epitome of otherness.  In a hippy style Indian long linen decorated white smock, he calls out in the name of the ancient pagan gods, and recites extracts from his poetry to an attentive audience. John Pendragon Tribal Messenger magazine. He died in 1998.
