1980s Flares fashionable trousers working class youth
Hull, Humberside, England circa 1980.
Fashionable young fishermen, out of work and hanging around in Eton Street. Flares were popular, the wider the better. These were in fact called Oxford Bags. Eton Street was within the Hessle Road area of town, and was a traditional working class enclave and home to fishermen and docker workers.
Street name thanks to George Norris.
