KENT COAL MINERS 1970S AND 2010S

Snowdown, Kent, England circa December 1976.  Snowdown Colliery coal miners coming off a shift, the pit head in the background. Peter Jarvis in foreground. Snowdown was the deepest and hottest colliery in the entire Kent coalfield and was known as Dante’s Inferno, it finally closed down in 1987.<br />
