Coal Mining Kent Uk 1970s
Snowdown, Kent, England circa December 1976. Snowdown Colliery coal miners coming off a shift, the pit head in the background. L - R. Unknown and Jack Hawkins. Snowdown was the deepest and hottest colliery in the entire Kent coalfield and was known as Dante’s Inferno, it finally closed down in 1987.
