MYSTERIOUS BRITAIN

Stromness, Orkney Islands, Scotland circa 1992. The Stones of Stenness are older than their partner stones at the Ring of Brodgar to which they are connected by an avenue of stones similar to that at Avebury in Wiltshire, England. The stone age monument is dated to 3000 BC and is now much depleted, only three original stones remain, two small stones have been added more recently. The original banks and ditches that surrounded the monument have been ploughed out. From the authors book Mysterious Britain.
