MYSTERIOUS BRITAIN

Gwennap, Cornwall, England circa June 1993.  Gwennap Pit is a preaching pit, known as the Methodist Cathedral. It is said that in 1773 John Wesley who was born in 1703 amongst the mining community in Cornwall preached to 32,000 people at Gwennap Pit, nearly one quarter of the whole population of Cornwall at that time.
