NEW CROSS FIRE SOUTH LONDON 1981

London, England 2nd March 1981. The Black People’s Day of Action march took place on several weeks after the New Cross Fire. Twenty thousand demonstrators met at Fordham Park and set off for central London, to make white people sit up and listen to their grievances, and to draw attention to the failure of the Met to fully investigate the circumstances surrounding the New Cross house fire.
