OPIUM DRUG ADDICTION HILL TRIBAL VILLAGES THAILAND 1990s

Akha Hill Tribe indigenous people of Northern Thailand circa 1995. In the Akha village of Pala a grandmother and her grandchild sit on a bed in their home. She is wearing everyday traditional Akha native costume. Each woman's headless is unique  and to some degree represents their age or marital status, <br />
wealth and standing in the community. Silver coins, monkey fur, and dyed chicken feathers are just a few of the things that might decorate the headdress. The headdresses differ by subgroup.
