Father Christmas introducing the Bampton Mummers on Christmas Eve. Bampton, Oxfordshire, England 24th December 1970. Father Christmas is played by Bobby Wells. This was his first performance since his previous one in 1938. Proving that the authenticity of the Bampton script had been maintained at least through the war years! The mummers performed at many of the 'grand' houses and later in the evening the pubs. This performance is at the Grange in Bampton, at the time owned Richard Todd the actor.
