MERCERS COMPANY CITY OF LONDON ALMSHOUSE UK
Trinity Hospital Almshouse Greenwich SE London, open day. The almshouse was founded by Henry Howard, Earl of Northampton for the poor men of Greenwich. Shortly before his death in 1614 though not a member of the Mercer Company, he entrusted the management of the Trinity Hospital to the City of London Mercer Company. On open day some residents wear their traditional top hats and frock coats. The Almshouse is the oldest building in Greenwich.
