The first recorded evidence of the Bodmin Wassailers is in the Will of the Town Clerk Nicholas Sprey who left in his Will dated 1624 16 shillings and 4 pence to provide an annual Wassailing Cup. The present Town Clerk Stephen Facer entertains the Bodmin Wassailers at his personal expense (£35-00) in the Mayors Parlor. Drinking a Toast to Nicholas Sprey. In 2016 the Wassailers raised £450 split between Bodmin Age Concern and Bodmin Hospital League of Friends.
