The Bellerby Feast now takes place Spring Bank Holiday Monday clowns accompanied by a drummer and accordion player playing traditional music go from house to house collecting alms and money for the children sports day that takes place in the afternoon. Villagers give cakes etc which are collected in a wicker basket. Cars are stopped on the main road running through the village and money is solicited Like many other traditional village customs there is immense pride amongst the village...
