Charlton-on-Otmoor, Oxfordshire 30th April 2014 May Garlanding. May garlands were once synonymous with May Day which in many villagers was known as Garland Day, villagers went garlanding. At Charlton-on-Otmoor the children from the Church of England, St Mary the Virgin Primary School elected a May Queen and King. Their parents and school teachers have been busy all morning and much of the night before making elaborate May Day Garlands and incorporating small crosses in bouquets of flowers...
