Soviet-born Israeli refusenik and activist. She was known as the "Guardian Angel" for her efforts to help the "Prisoners of Zion" in the Soviet Union. After years in internal exile and a campaign by world leaders on 2nd October 1987, she was informed she had been granted an exit visa and allowed to travel to Israel. Seen here on the beach near Tel Aviv.
