St Johns Wood, London, England circa June 1975.<br />
Eton College schoolboys have been playing cricket since at least the 1720s and played Westminster School at Tothill Fields in the 1790s. In the early 20th centuary the Eton v Harrow match was a two day affair, and in 1914 was attended by over 38,000 people. It was very much part of the English Social Season where society and cricket mingled, parents and their friends brought their own refreshment and eventually this turned in a one huge society picnic. The game in more recent times very often attracts more spectators than a first class county match. Picnicking during the lunch break is still popular and fun
