The Battle of Orgreave was a violent confrontation on 18 June between police and pickets at a British Steel Corporation coking plant at Orgreave.  A pivotal event during the Miners Strike. Dene Wall was a young miner; a flying picket from High Moor Colliery in North East Derbyshire.  That morning in the push and shrove, he was “randomly arrested, kicked and punched by the police snatch squad.” Charged at Sheffield Crown Court with Unlawful Assembly, a section under the 1715 Riot Act, if he had been found guilty he may have faced up to 15 years behind bars. He was found not guilt.
