Mildenhall, Suffolk, England circa 1985. On a make shift stage outside the Bird in Hand, American servicemen from the USAF base RAF Mildenhall, enjoy a beer filled evening watching local girls take part in a wet T-shirt competition. Getting out of hand, a wet T-shirt contestant get carried shoulder high along the temporary stage. The event was organised by a local entrepreneur cashing in on the serviceman’s US dollars pay packets and their single status.
