BRITISH SOCIETY 1970S AND 1980S UK THE WAY WE WERE.
Chelsea, London, England circa 1977.
During the summer of 1977 Punk Rockers gathered each Saturday by the tube station in Sloane Square to walk down the King’s Road, handing out flowers and blocking the free flow of traffic. There were occasional skirmishes with Mods who also turned up, and of course the police were there police too. He is wearing a fashionably torn T-shirt, neatly pinned together from Smutz, which was upstairs in Beaufort Market at 374 King’s Road.
